My Favorite Children's Authors
I will be reading “Knuffle Bunny” aloud to students, “reading aloud to students helps them develop and improve literacy skills such as reading, writing, speaking and listening (Hollie, 2014, p. 88). Hollie (2014) states that listening to expert readers furthers students understanding of vocabulary, language patterns, improves fluency and helps English language learners. I will have a writing prompt for 2nd grade students to complete.

1st lines of the book: “If you are interested in stories with happy endings, you would be better off reading some other book. In this book, not only is there no happy ending, there is no happy beginning and very few happy things in the middle.”
