Let us remember: One book, one pen, one child, and one teacher can change the world. |
I pride myself on a unique ability to reach students of various language learner levels and socio-economic backgrounds. I grew up in Los Angeles, California where I taught pre-school aged children and worked in administration for 10 years. This experience working with students and families of very diverse backgrounds was the most fulfilling time of my life. Teaching preschool not only honed my classroom management skills, but I learned so much about different cultures, customs and developed meaningful relationships. Since, moving to Syracuse, New York, four years ago, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Childhood Education, in December 2016 with honors. I completed my student teaching experience at Bolivar Road Elementary, Chittenango in Kindergarten and Morrisville MS HS in 6th grade. I had a wonderful experience and build great relationships at both schools. After my student teaching, I was hired by the district as a substitute teacher. I have loved my time at Bolivar Elementary and Chittenango Middle School. I am skilled in creating lesson plans and anti-bias curricula, incorporating student interests and prior knowledge, while creating a fun and safe learning environment. As a teacher, I am committed to furthering my education, I will pursue a masters in the near future. I hope focus on my first year of teaching and then start my masters in the fall of 2018.
